Joseph Carrigan

Joseph M . Carrigan Sr., of Stoneham died on Thursday, November 29 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Boston on March 23, 1947, Joe was the son of the late Joseph and Grace (Favreau) Carrigan . He was a graduate of Jamaica Plain High School in Jamaica Plain.

Joe was a Property/Maintenance Manager of the Richdale Park Condominium Association in Cambridge. He had also worked for the Salvation Army in Cambridge for many years and especially enjoyed being a part of the bell ringing during the Christmas season. Joe was an active member of the Stoneham Kiwanis and worked tirelessly raising money for their annual fundraiser. For his efforts, he received the Stoneham Kiwanian of the Year Award in 2012.

Joe was the husband of Patricia White. He was the father of Kelly Primo and her husband Vincent of Lowell, Colleen Carrigan and Ken Twombly of Amesbury, Kimberly Lamontagne and her husband Stephen of Everett and Joseph Carrigan , Jr. and his wife Gina of Everett. Joe was also the stepfather of Christopher White and his wife Arlette of Cambridge and Kaitlyn White of Stoneham. He was the brother of Anne Carrigan of California and the late William Carrigan , Janet Norris and Alice Lewerenz. Joe is also survived by his grandchildren; Matthew and his partner Jessica, Katie, Stephen, Shannon, Christopher, Robert, Shaylee, Jade, Bella, Jonathan and Trevor and his two great grandchildren; Kayleigh and Kyla. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St. Stoneham on Monday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 1-5pm. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Winchester.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joe's memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
