Joseph A. Ottaviani, 90, of Peabody and Naples, FL died on Sunday, July 31 at his home.
Born in Joliet, IL on March 20, 1921 he was the son of the late Joseph and Pearl (McCreary) Ottaviani.
Mr. Ottaviani was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School, Class of 1939. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired electrical engineer for General Electric in Medford.
Mr. Ottaviani was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed golfing, boating and flying his own plane.
He was the husband of the late Ida (Milandri) Ottaviani. He was the father of Lea Cassetta and her husband Carl of Peabody and the late Cheryl Hoffmann. He was the brother of the late Marie Edwards. He was the grandfather of Kristin Cassetta, and T.J. Hoffmann and great grandfather of Cory Hitzenbuhler, and Jack Cassetta.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Adelaide Church, 708 Lowell St., Peabody on Saturday September 10, at 10 a.m. There are no calling hours.
