Joseph Burke

Joseph R . Burke , 64 of Marshfield, formerly of Wakefield died Friday March 29 in Stoughton.

Born in Barnstable on June 6, 1948 he was the son of the late Thomas J. & Eleanor (Greene) Burke .

Joseph was raised in Wakefield and was a member of St. Joseph Church. He was active in many other affairs including Wakefield High School sports and had been honored by the Wakefield High School Sports Hall of Fame. He had worked at Friendly's Restaurant of Melrose and Rattan Furniture of Wakefield.

He was the brother of T. Michael Burke and his wife Janet of Marshfield. He was the uncle of Brian M. Angel Burke & wife Caroline, Timothy J.Glynn-Burke and wife Kellie and Kerry M. Dailey. He was the great uncle of Krista, Taylor, Morgan, Drew, Shane, Milo, Charlotte, Cooper and Isla.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield on Friday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church 173 Albion St. Wakefield at 10:00. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday 4-8 pm. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery.
