Joseph Santora

Joseph Santora, 91, of Wakefield formerly of Stoneham and Medford, died on Wednesday, February 1 at his residence.

Born in East Boston on April 17, 1920, he was the son of the late Ralph and Mary (Mambo) Santora.

Mr. Santora had been a Wakefield resident for the past 9 years. He was a graduate of East Boston High School, Class of 1938 and had attended classes at M.I.T. Mr. Santora was a retired supervisor for the M.W. Carr Company in Somerville and had also worked at Comfort Pillow in Somerville. He was a musician for many years and had played guitar in a band called "Notes of Rhythm"

Mr. Santora is survived by his wife Grace M. (Massa) Santora, his son Steven G. Santora and his wife Elizabeth of Worchester and Jeanne Higgins and her husband William of Wakefield. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his three sisters; Phyllis Votta, Florence Vertullo and Mary Santora and his brother Arthur Santora.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Saturday at 10am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St, Wakefield at 11am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday from 5-8pm. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
