Joseph V . Astuccio , 65, of Ft. Lauderdale and formerly Stoneham died at the VA Hospital in Miami, Fla on Wednesday October 19.

Born in Winthrop on March 10, 1946, he was the son of the late Vincent and Rose (Uccello) Astuccio .

Mr. Astuccio was the loving father of Joseph V . Astuccio , II and his wife Diana of Easthampton. Joseph was the beloved husband of Barbara Falzone. He was the brother of Phyllis Walser of Londonderry, NH and Maria Apalakis and her husband Edward of Stoneham and was the grandfather of Giancarlo Astuccio . He was the uncle of Nicole, Brieanne, and AJ Walser and Christopher and Peter Apalakis. He was the stepfather of Ricco and Patrisha Falzone.

Funeral from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Thursday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10 a.m. A period of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.

Interment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Miami VA Healthcare System, c/o Voluntary Service, 1201 N.W. 16th St., Miami, FL 33125. Checks payable to Miami VA GPF8034. For directions & guestbook, www.mcdonaldfs.com
