Joseph L. Vecchio

Joseph Vecchio, age 88, of Wakefield, passed away on Monday, March 24, at Beverly Hospital.

He was born in East Boston on November 4, 1936, and was the son of the late Magno “Michael” and Carmen (Dantona) Vecchio.

Joe was a firm believer in the Gospel, a faithful Christian, and loved God. He was the beloved husband of Nancy (Wilson) Vecchio for forty-eight years. He was a devoted and loving father to his daughter, Natalie (Vecchio) Thomson, the best father-in-law to Joie Thomson, and the most wonderful Papa to his granddaughters, Talia and Kiera Thomson. He enjoyed attending his granddaughters’ volleyball games and was their biggest fan. Joe also leaves behind many other loving family members and was extremely thankful for Restoration Church and the wonderful community and friends he had there.

Joe was a veteran who served in the Army and loved his country. For twenty-five years, he owned IHOP in Revere and had a tremendously positive impact on all his employees. He was deeply loved by all who knew him or came into contact with him.

His Funeral Service will be held at Restoration Church, 4 Oak Street, Wakefield, on Saturday, March 29, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
