Josephine A. Dalimonte (Jo-Ann), 82, of South Yarmouth, formerly of Stoneham, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 3rd, with family by her side.
Born in Boston and raised in Medford, she was the daughter of the late John and Jennie (Gangarossa) Frisoni and sister of the late Nancy Phillips.
Jo-Ann graduated from St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing where she became a registered nurse and later earned her nurse practitioner’s degree at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. She was recognized for her outstanding achievement in Who’s Who in American Nursing. Her favorite memories were spending time with family at the cottage on Governor’s Lake in Raymond, NH, and living life as a “snowbird” enjoying her summers on Cape Cod and winters at The Villages in Florida. Jo-Ann enjoyed music, theater, and cooking. She was a gifted pianist and a talented writer. She was also an investor in real estate with an eye for finding a “diamond in the rough”. Jo-Ann was involved with St. Patrick’s Parish in Stoneham where she taught CCD.
Jo-Ann is survived by her beloved husband of sixty years, Anthony Dalimonte, her four children; John Dalimonte and his wife Carmen of Birmingham, AL, Denise Schepper and her husband Garrett of Sturbridge, Mark Dalimonte of Stoneham, and Susan Kenney and her husband Rich of Kingston. She was preceded in death by her grandson Matthew, and leaves behind seven grandchildren, Jaclyn, Austin, Joseph, Thomas, Jacob, Jack, Michael, and one great-grandchild, Miraya, as well as many friends and relatives.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham on Thursday, December 14 at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham prior to the mass from 8:30-9:30am. Interment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham.
