Joyce Bowman

Joyce B . Bowman , age 77, of North Reading, died at her home on Friday, November 24 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Medford, MA on March 11, 1940 she was the daughter of the late Elery and Bessie (Phillips) McKeil.

Joyce was raised in Medford and had worked as a hair stylist for Russell Edwards of Boston before opening her own shop in North Reading. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed spending time with her friends at her Quilt Shop. Joyce's yard was a showplace due to her exceptional gardening skills. Although, "Nanny" was most happy when simply spending time with her grandchildren.

She was the beloved wife of Thomas A. Bowman . She was the loving mother of Kristin E. Bowman of Port Saint Lucie, FL, Dana L. Delano and her husband Kevin of No. Reading, and Keily J. Tanguay and her husband Kevin of Derry, NH. She was the sister of Jean Watson of Medford, NY, Beverly Spofford of Stuart, FL, and the late Edith Rooney and Roy McKeil. She was the loving grandmother of Samantha, Drew, Abigail, Emma, Owen, and Noah. Also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Joyce's life will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Sunday from 2-5pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial is private.
