J. Roger Seabury

J. Roger Seabury of Wakefield, age 76 died Saturday December 6 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Born in Melrose on July 11, 1932 he was the son of the late Roger D. & Edna (Glennon) Seabury. Mr. Seabury was a lifelong Wakefield resident and graduated from Wakefield High School in 1950. He later worked for the Wakefield M.L.D. before moving on to the New England Telephone Company where he retired as a Foreman. He was a Life Member of the Wakefield Lodge of Elks, the Telephone Pioneers of America and had been active in Wakefield Youth Hockey. He also served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife Janet E. (Wass) Seabury. He was the father of Paul D. Seabury of Melrose, Robert M. Seabury of Wakefield and the late J. Roger Seabury, Jr. of Wakefield and father-in-law of Jennifer, Sharon and Sheila. He was the brother of Edward Seabury of Burlington and Judith Fabbri of Lynnfield and the late Elaine Downie. He was also the grandfather of Holly, Paul, Kelly, Lauren, Jack, Roger, Madeline and Samantha.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield Wednesday at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 11:30. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday 3-7 PM. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery.
