June R. Pelletier, 73, of North Reading, formerly of Wakefield died on Wednesday, March 16 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading.
Born in East Boston on June 22, 1937 she was the daughter of the late Carlton E. and Jeanne I. (Muise) Cooke.
Mrs. Pelletier was a graduate of Reading High School, Class of 1955. She was a retired secretary for the Wakefield Public Schools.
Mrs. Pelletier had been a longtime Wakefield resident before moving to North Reading in 2002. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Wakefield.
Mrs. Pelletier was the wife of Louis O. Pelletier, and the late Leslie O. Griffin. She was the mother of Christopher Griffin of Lynn, Karen Langille of Reading, Kevin Griffin of North Reading, Sheila DiCicco of Wakefield, Anne Parker of Framingham, Deborah Scione of TN and Marie Jenkins of Medford. She was the sister of Janice Marshall and Ronald Cooke both of North Reading, Richard Cooke of Stoneham and the late Jeanne Thomas, Joan Nadeau and Robert Cooke. She was the grandmother of Jennifer Griffin and Meghan Griffin of No. Reading, Melissa Pelletier of Everett, Brandon Lan, Katy Lan, Rebecca MacKay and Nicole Fitzgerald all of Wakefield and Danielle Scione, James Scione III and Tonitia Scione all of TN. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 o'clock. A period of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
