Karen Zappala

Karen M . Zappala , 48, of Lynnfield formerly of Revere died on Thursday, October 22 at her home.

Born in Boston on December 10, 1960, she was the daughter of Thomas J. and Catherine F. (Countie) Murphy of Lynnfield.

Mrs. Zappala was raised in Revere and was a graduate of Pope John High School. She was the owner and operator of Andover Video. She was also the owner of Simply Kids a clothing store in Lynnfield. She later worked at the Massachusetts General Hospital Gift Shop.

Mrs. Zappala was the wife of the late William J. Zappala . In addition to her parents she is survived by her daughters Brittany C. Zappala and Alex Zappala both of Lynnfield, her stepdaughter, Kimberly Burke and her husband Thomas of Lynnfield, her brother Thomas Murphy of Natick and sisters Joan Marks of Winthrop and Ann Russell of Stoneham. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield on Monday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church Lynnfield at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
