Katherine Orr

Katherine A . Orr , 91, a longtime resident of Wakefield, died Tuesday April 1, at the Woburn Nursing Center.

Born in Medford on September 28, 1922 she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Katherine (Hennessey) Healy.

Mrs. Orr was raised in Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School, Class of 1940. She had been a Wakefield resident since 1952 and was a member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church. She was a former member of the Meadowbrook Golf Club in Reading. She had worked at the former Jordan Marsh at the Burlington Mall and Armitron in Malden. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was the husband of the late Daniel J. Orr . She is survived by her two children, Kathleen Turner and her husband, the late Richard Turner of Wakefield, and her son Daniel J. Orr and his wife Joan of Medford, and her sister Mary Bird of Stoneham. She was preceded in death by her brothers Joseph and Maurice Healy. She is also survived by her six grandchildren; Lindsay and her husband Troy Renauld, Kevin, Laura, Katie, Thomas, and Brian, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 10am followed by a Funeral Mass in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 11o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 7pm. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
