Kathleen Crotty

Kathleen E . Crotty , 62, of No. Reading, formerly of Somerville, died Friday August 19 at the Lynn Union Hospital.

Born in Cambridge on August 31, 1953 she was the daughter of the late Philip and Elizabeth (Sharpe) Amero.

Kathy was raised in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School, Class of 1971. She had worked as a Medical Assistant for Harvard VanGuard. Kathy loved the lake and the beach; but above all she loved her family, she was a wonderful and caring mother. She was known for having a big heart and placing everyone's needs before her own.

Kathy was the adoring mother of George Crotty , III and Kerry Crotty , both of Somerville. She was the sister of John Surabian of Salem, Robert Amero of Chelmsford and Patricia Amero of NH. She was the loving grandmother of Tyler Crotty , Caden Foley, and Kali Mahoney. She was the former wife of George P. Crotty , Jr. of Somerville. She was the dear friend of Mica Cabral of Roslindale. Kathy is also survived by her step-mother Jane Amero of West Virginia and step father Roland Cowie of Lynn, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is also survived by her longtime companion Joseph Pineyro.

Her Funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10:00. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday 4-8pm. Interment will be private.

In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Kathleen's name to a charity of one's choice.
