Kathleen Delorey

Kathleen M. "Marie" Delorey, age 91, of Wakefield, formerly of Winchester, died Saturday January 5 at the Greenwood Nursing Center in Wakefield.

Born in Medford on October 5, 1927 she was the beloved daughter of the late Leonell A. and Alice F. (Melia) Delorey.

Ms. Delorey was raised in Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School, Class of 1945. She was a retired underwriter for Kaler Carney Liffler & Co., Inc. of Boston. She had been a longtime Winchester resident before moving to Wakefield in 2001 and was a member of St. Joseph Parish.

She was the cherished sister of Bernard A. Delorey and his wife Joyce of Wakefield and the late Virginia F. Delorey and Henry J. Delorey and wife Gloria. She was the Aunt of Phyllis Spivack, Diane Hoti, Patricia Carew, and Dorothy, Ann, Mark, Andrew, Teresa and James Delorey. She was also the companion of the late Joseph Gauvin.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10am. Interment, Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Visitation for relatives and friends at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-7pm.
