Kathryn Covell

Kathryn A." Kay" Covell, age 85 of Maine and formerly of Stoneham died Monday August 8 in Scarborough, ME. She was born in Woburn, MA on December 23, 1936 and was the daughter of the late George E. and Catherine C. (Flynn) Hooper.

She was a long time Stoneham resident and was a devoted member of Saint Patrick Church. She had worked for the Stoneham Co-operative Bank and later worked in Hampton Beach, NH at the "Seaside Surf Shop". Mrs. Covell was a dedicated family woman who enjoyed travel, cake decorating and dancing and singing.

She was the beloved wife of the late Edwin D. Covell, Jr.. She was the loving mother of Richard P. Covell, Patricia A. Cote, Joan M. Telles, Kathleen Covell, Carol A. Weatherton, Cynthia J. Miller and the late Robert E."Bobby" Covell. She was the sister of the late George "Moe" Hooper, William "Buddy" Hooper, Mary Fama and Rita "Dee" Kelley. She is also survived by her loving fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint Patrick Church 71 Central Street Stoneham on Monday August 15 at 10:00. Interment will follow at Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home 322 Main Street Stoneham on Sunday August 14 from 1-4pm.
