Kathryn White

Kathryn White of Medford, MA passed away November 21, 2021 as a result of cancer. Daughter of the late John "Jack" and Caroline Wallner, Kathy was most proud of her family: daughter Erin and her husband Sam Barnum and their children and daughter MaryKathryn White . She is survived by her sister Marilyn (Warren) Lischette, and brothers Jim (Jane) and John (Dyanne), as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Greg.

Born in Chicago, IL in 1950, the city girl converted to country life after moving to Maine where she raised her family on a small farm in Limington. Active with her daughters in 4-H, they showed their sheep at all the local fairs. Kathy was an avid reader and enjoyed Sci-Fi movies, especially Star Wars. In her final months, she was disappointed to learn that she would not be here to read Diana Gabaldon's next book, due for publication 3months later.

After her divorce, Kathy returned to Illinois to be near her family, joined a roller coaster club and enjoyed her independence. She traveled with her best friend Debbie Sitter to Hawaii, Jamaica and Grand Cayman.

Later, she returned to New England to be close to her daughters and grandchildren. A card shark, she could be heard disputing the game rules with her grandson, also a stickler for rules who likes to win.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
