Kenneth P. Matousek, 64, of Lynnfield, died on Friday, December 8 at the Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston.
Born in Chicago on March 28, 1953, he was the son of the late Robert and Jean (Cooksey) Matousek.
Kenneth was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Chicago, Class of 1971 and DePaul University in the Respiratory Program. He taught Medical Coding at the Salter School in Malden and had been a Lynnfield resident since 1989. Kenneth was a Vietnam Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion. He was also a member of the St. Maria Goretti Church in Lynnfield.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Lee C. (Pilkanis) Matousek, his two daughters; Sara Russell and her husband John of Acton and Jane Matousek of Billerica, his brother John Matousek of Chicago, IL and his three sisters; Kathy Woodring of Pennsylvania, Janet Fessenden of Chicago, IL and Bette Wilson of Tampa, FL. He is also survived by his two grandchildren Emily and Samuel Russell.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Maria Goretti Church, 112 Chestnut St., Lynnfield on Monday at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute or to Brigham & Women's Hospital.
