Kirk W . Arsenault , 50, of North Reading, formerly of Melrose and Wakefield, died accidentally on Monday, May 20 in Indiana, alongside fiancé Michelle ""Shelly"" Barnes Hendrix, 47.
Born in Wakefield on September 4, 1963, he was the son of George and Carolyn (Forbes) Arsenault .
Kirk was a graduate of Northeast Vocational High School in Wakefield, Class of 1981. He had worked for Archie & Sons in Chelsea and later was the owner of Arsenault Industries in Melrose. Kirk was one of the first responders for the clean up at the World Trade Center in New York after 9-11, and contributed greatly to the Boston Wounded Veterans, 911 First Responders, and was proudly the president of Motorcycle Club Hard Hat Heroes. His passion in life was his motorcycle rides on the Harley with fiancé with Shelly and enjoying time with his children, family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his four children; Jessica Hughes and her husband Greg of Cambridge and his grandson William Kirk-Gregory Hughes, Jennifer Arsenault , James Arsenault and Jacqueline Arsenault all of Melrose, his two brothers; Kerry Arsenault and Kris Arsenault both of Revere and his sister Kim Logue of Manchester by the Sea.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday at 10am followed by a graveside service at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield at 11am. Visitation for relatives and will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 1-5pm.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Boston Wounded Veterans (http://theyfoughtweride.com/donate/) and any of the many 9/11 charities supporting 9/11 first responders, families and the memorial.
