Kyle Symes

Kyle Quinn Symes 34, formerly of Stoneham and Melrose, most recently residing in Davenport, Iowa passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Trinity Bettendorf. Kyle was born May 28, 1980, the son of Pamela Bishop and Daniel Symes.

Kyle is survived by his wife Heather Symes, Davenport, Iowa mother and step-father Pamela and Matthew Bishop, Bettendorf, Iowa father and step-mother Daniel and Jodi Symes, Amesbury sister and brother-in-law Melissa Symes Patalano and Mario Patalano of Stoneham as well as Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and friends.

Kyle was preceded in death by his grandparents Arthur and Julia Symes, Stoneham and Thomas and Nancy Hutchinson, Alton, Illinois.

Kyle was employed as an electrician and contractor for ten years. Kyle's hobbies included painting and he was an animal lover. He was active in the Celtic Highland Games, and enjoyed making homemade mead.

Kyle was born with a rare life-threatening metabolic disease that prevents the body from converting certain fats to energy. Research for these metabolic diseases is critical to someday finding a cure.

The FOD (Fatty Oxidation Disorders) Family Support Group mission is to fund research, connect and network with FOD families and professionals around the world, and to provide emotional and grief support. It is an all-volunteer non-profit 501c3 tax-exempt corporation with donations tax deductible.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Monday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-5pm. Interment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham.
