Lana Evangelista

Lana C . (DeMarco) Evangelista , 86, a long time Wakefield resident, died at the Melrose – Wakefield Hospital on Friday February 8th.

Born in Lynn on February 25, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Nella (Valvo) DeMarco. Mrs. Evangelista was a graduate of Wakefield High School, class of 1943.

Mrs. Evangelista will be sadly missed. She was the wife of Alfred "Fred" Evangelista with whom she shared 64 years of marriage. Lana leaves two daughters: Peggy Schleicher and her husband Bob of Tewksbury, and Nancy Radville and her husband Richard of Reading. She was the sister of Helen (DeMarco) Ventura of Wakefield. She leaves two grandchildren: Tim Radville and his wife Kim Edwards of Brooklyn, NY and Kate Radville and her husband Adlar Su of Arlington as well as a great-grandson, Aidan Rad Su. She also leaves two step-grandchildren: Jillian Schleicher of Falmouth, ME and Karen Campbell and her husband Wayne of Newton, NH and their two children Summer and Thomas.

Her funeral will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield on Thursday at 12:00 P.M. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home prior to the service starting at 10:30 A.M. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
