Larry Kamp, of Lynn, Massachusetts, sadly left this earth on Tuesday evening, August 6, 2024 at the age of 72. Larry suffered an unexpected cardiac arrest on Monday, July 29, and was kept alive on life support throughout the week with the hope that his body could recover. He was surrounded by his family, and we all felt the prayers and love of friends and colleagues during his last week. His family members were at his bedside while he slipped away.
Larry is survived by his wife, Lianne, his daughter, Erika, his son Nathan and daughter-in-law Becky, his son Jesse, and his brother, David and sister-in-law Karen.
To the world, Larry was many things to many people and touched countless lives that will have a ripple effect for years to come. As a musician, organist and choir director he shared his talent and love of sacred music. As an educator for students from kindergarten through college, he shared his passion for music, his love of learning, his evolving theology, and always encouraged inquisitive and questioning minds.
To his family, Larry was a devoted, loving, and exceptional husband for 46 years. He was a father who loved his children unconditionally with unwavering devotion. Together, the family lived a life full of struggles and triumphs, joys and sorrows, laughter and tears. But always a life centered on love.
No words can ever express the loss we will feel without him in our lives. He has touched the world and left this world a better place for having been in it.
A Memorial Service will be held on August 16th, 2024 at 11:00AM at A. J. Gordon Memorial Chapel, Gordon College, 255 Grapevine Road, Wenham, MA 01984. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
