Lawrence M. Owen, 94 of Wakefield died on Sunday June 2 at his home.
Born in Malden on May 25, 1919 he was the son of the late Clarence & Estelle (Bertram) Owen.
Mr. Owen was a raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School and Bentley College. He was a retired accountant for the Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. Mr. Owen was a W.W. II Army veteran and a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was also a long time member of the Greenwood Union Church.
Mr. Owen was the beloved husband of the late Dorice E. (Crosby) Owen. He was the loving father of Lawrence C. Owen and his wife Angela of Highlands Ranch, CO and Kathy J. Long and her husband Mark of Wakefield. He was the grandfather of Nicole, Shannon, Lawrence A., Randall W. and Hannah. He is also survived by his great granddaughter Mikayla. Mr. Owen was preceded in death by his brother Clarence Owen.
His funeral will be held in the Greenwood Union Church, corner of Main & Oak Sts., Wakefield on Friday at 10 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield on Thursday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Acton.
