Lawrence N. Palumbo, 76 of Stoneham and a former resident of Malden died Thursday, October 29 in Danvers. Mr. Palumbo was born in Stoneham on April 24, 1939 and was the son of the late Frank and Angelina (Mazza) Palumbo. He was a graduate of Malden High School and later attended Wentworth Institute of Boston. He was a retired Machinist for the M.B.T.A. where he worked for many years. He was a member of the Italian American Citizens Club of Malden and was an avid golfer. Mr. Palumbo also served honorably in the United States Coast Guard.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years Gloria C. (Dion) Palumbo. His three sons, Lawrence F. Palumbo and his wife Stacey of GA, Joseph O. Palumbo and his wife Tanya of No. Andover and Michael H. Palumbo and his wife Cristina of Stoneham. He was the loving grandfather to Jason, Lauren, Nicholas, Matthew, Amanda, Anthony and Mark. He is also predeceased by his brothers Henry and Frank Palumbo.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham Monday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central, St., Stoneham at 10:00. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 1 to 5 pm. Interment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham.
