Lawrence J. Staff, 83, of North Reading died on Thursday, February 26 at his home.
Born in Boston on September 24, 1931, he was the son of the late John and Gertrude (Gill) Staff.
Mr. Staff was a graduate of Reading High School. He was a licensed electrician and a long-time employee of General Electric at its West Lynn plant. Mr. Staff had served in the United States Army during the Korean War. A former resident of Wakefield for many years, he had resided in North Reading for the past 40 years, where he was a devout member of St. Theresa's Parish.
Mr. Staff was the devoted husband of the late Carolyn A. (Kulacz) Staff. He was predeceased by his brothers Paul Staff of Hampstead, New Hampshire and John M. Staff of North Reading. He was the beloved uncle of Elizabeth Turner and Carolyn Kulig, Karen Morrell, Susan Schott, and the late David Kulacz, Pamela Trojanowski and Deborah Kulacz, Elaine Stanley and Stanley Kulacz, Jr., Cheryl Staff, Laurie Kelly, Michael A. Staff, and John M. Staff, Jr., and Thomas G. Staff and Michael P. Staff. Mr. Staff is also survived by his sisters-in-law Carol Staff and Kathy Staff, as well as by several great nieces and nephews.
Services will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield, on Tuesday, March 10 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph's Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, March 9 from 4pm-8pm. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
