FUNERAL POSTPONED TILL SATURDAY 1/4/14
Lilian E. Howland, 90, of Lynnfield died on Saturday December 28 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House.
Born on June 10, 1923 she was the daughter of Robert and Elsie (Kerry) Bailey
Mrs. Howland was raised in England during WWII and had been a Lynnfield resident since 1947. She was a member of the St. Maria Goretti Church and was a passed member of the Our Lady of Assumption Church Ladies Sodality. She was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary of Lynnfield. During WWII Mrs. Howland served as an Air Raid Warden during the bombing of London.
Mrs. Howland was the beloved wife of the late Ralph G. Howland. She was the loving mother of David R. Howland and his wife Virginia of Danvers and Denise L. Tewksbury of Wakefield and her late husband Stephen. She was the sister of Daphne Chapman & the late Hilda Whitfield. She was the grandmother of Benjamin & Jeffrey Howland of Danvers & Jill Amato & husband Andrew of Dorchester. She was the great grandmother of Abigail, Hailey & Brooke Amato.
Her funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield Friday at 11:00. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home Thursday 4-8pm. Interment, Forest Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lilian's name to Children's Hospital Trust, 1 Autumn St. #731 Boston, MA 02215.
