Lillian McCarthy

Lillian A. McCarthy, 83, of Lynnfield and formerly of Revere died on Monday, October 22 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington.

Born in Boston on June 28, 1929 she was the daughter of the late William & Mary (Barnes) Reilly.

Mrs. McCarthy was raised in Allston and was a graduate of Girls High School of Boston. She was retired from Travelers Insurance Company and had worked in the Boston and Braintree offices. She had been a Lynnfield resident for the past 15 years and was a member of the Lynnfield Senior Citizens and St. Adelaide Church.

Mrs. McCarthy was the wife of the late Joseph F. McCarthy. She was the mother of Laurie McCarthy & wife Barbara Gibaldi of NJ, Joseph F. McCarthy & wife Elaine of Acushnet, Mark McCarthy of Lynnfield and Gary McCarthy & wife Kathy of Peabody. She was the sister of Francis Reilly of Marshfield and the late Gert McDermott, Marie Sullivan, James and Buddy Reilly. She was the grandmother of Sean, Ryan, Evan, Katie, Daniel, Ava and Angelo.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield, Friday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Adelaide Church, 708 Lowell St., Peabody at 10:00. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home Thursday 4-8pm. Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody.
