Llewellyn A. Brown, 88, of Wakefield died o n Monday, September 16 at his residence.
Born in Dedham on March 20, 1925 he was the son of the late Azariah and Ethel (Blandford) Brown.
Mr. Brown was a graduate of Dedham High School, Class of 1942 and Bentley College, Class of 1948. He served in the United States Marine Corps, attached to the 4th Marine Division during World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Brown participated in the Battle of Marshall Islands, Saipan, Tinian and Iwo Jima as a Pharmacist Mate. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Wakefield, past president of Boston chapter of the 4th Marine Division Association, past president of the Northeast Insurance Auditors Association, past president of the Wakefield Retired Men's Club, the Wakefield American Legion. Mr. Brown was the Elections Deputy Warren of Precinct 5 at the Westside Social Club and was a very dedicated election worker.
Mr. Brown was the husband of the late Virginia (Szumski) Brown. The brother of the late Alma Stansfield, Harold Brown, Malcolm Brown and Mable Wennerstrand. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Brown was the devoted friend of Lillian Olstinski of Wakefield.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 1-4pm. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
