, 71, of Wakefield passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on Friday, December 13.
Born in Waltham on June 20, 1942 she was the daughter of the late Albert and Sarah (Keaveney) DeVincent.
Lois
was a graduate of St. Columbkille High School in Brighton and the Mount Auburn School of Nursing in Cambridge. She was a 50 year member of Bear Hill Golf Club where she enjoyed golf and was the club champion 5 times. She also participated in State tournaments and was the State Champion in 1976.
Lois
was a registered nurse having worked at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital as well as some local nursing homes. She was a longtime owner and breeder of race horses along with her husband Ed, a sport that they truly enjoyed.
Lois
was the beloved wife of 50 years to Edward H.
Stone
. She was the loving mother of Pamela Custodio and her husband Richard of Wakefield. She was the sister of Vance DeVincent and his wife Deborah and Storm DeVincent, all of Dracut and Candice Socha and her husband Eric of North Chelmsford. She was the devoted grandmother to Jill, Richard and Sara. She is also survived by her Aunt Anne DeVincent of Waltham and many cousins.
Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 a.m. A visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
