Lorraine Coughlin

Lorraine F. Coughlin, 82, of Reading formerly of Wakefield died Friday, August 13 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington.

Born in Everett on February 20, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lillian (Orr) Linden.

Mrs. Coughlin had been a Wakefield resident for 40 years before moving to Reading four years ago. She was a graduate of St. Clements High School in West Somerville, Class of 1945. Mrs. Coughlin had worked as a secretary for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in Boston. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Wakefield. Mrs. Coughlin enjoyed baking, sewing and knitting.

Mrs. Coughlin is survived by her husband James J. Coughlin, her four children; James M. Coughlin and his wife Elizabeth of Nashua, NH, Joanne T. Ryan and her husband Edmond, Kevin J. Coughlin and his wife Susan all of Reading and Sheila M. Robertson and her husband Scott of Wakefield and her sister Edna Chaisson of Randolph. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren; Christopher Ryan and his wife Paula, Daniel Ryan, Ryan Coughlin, James Coughlin, Timothy Robertson, Sarah Coughlin, Zachary Coughlin and Stephen Robertson. Mrs. Coughlin was predeceased by her sister Carol Rossi.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Tuesday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church 173 Albion St, Wakefield at 10 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association 311 Arsenal St, Watertown, MA 02472.
