Lorraine Oliver

Lorraine Rivais Oliver , 81, a Wakefield resident since 1955, died on Monday, October 19 at her home.

Born in Boston on April 5, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Edwin J. and Emma M. (Vachon) Rivais .

Mrs. Oliver had attended Arlington High School. She was employed as a waitress at the former Ship Restaurant in Lynnfield for many years and was a member of St. Florence Parish in Wakefield.

Mrs. Oliver was the wife of the late Richard H. Oliver who died in 1989. She was the mother of Rick Oliver and his wife Janet of Wilmington and Marie A. Oliver of North Conway, NH. She was the sister of Robert Rivais of Arlington, Mabel J. Hinkle of Lexington and the late Paul Rivais and Rita Ahearn. She was the sister-in-law of Irene Rivais of Lexington. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Adam and Paul Oliver and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 10am. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at St. Florence Church prior to the mass starting at 9:30. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Arlington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry, First Baptist Church, 8 Lafayette St, Wakefield, MA 01880.
