Lorraine Thomson

Lorraine Thomson, 86 of Lynnfield died Saturday September 16 at the Kaplan House of Danvers.

Born in Winchester, August 29, 1936, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Alice (Curley) Murphy. 

Lorraine was a graduate of St. Gregory’s High School in Dorchester and went on to attend Boston College. She was a Lynnfield resident for over sixty years. Lorraine was a social member at Salem Country Club in Peabody. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, reading, playing cards, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Lorraine was the beloved wife of Robert S. Thomson. She was the loving mother of Alice Nielsen and her husband Ken of Reading, Robert S. Thomson Jr. of Wakefield, Brian J. Thomson of Hudson, NH, and Erin M. Altobello and her husband Harry of Reading. She was the sister of John Murphy of Virginia and Paul Murphy of New Hampshire. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren: Jen, Nick, Devyn, Alyssa, Samantha, and Greg, and 3 great grandchildren. 

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday September 22, from 4- 7 p.m. 

Interment will be private.
