Louis Bagley

Louis J . Bagley , 89, of Wakefield died on August 12 in Ventura, CA.

Born in a loving home on John Street in Reading, MA, on March 29, 1926, he was the son of Phillip and Teresa (Cuneo) Bacigalupo, as well as the grandson of Italian-American immigrants from Genoa, Italy, Louis and Julia Bacigalupo, who owned the "Bacigalupo Block" of stores in Reading Square in the early part of the 20th century.

He was the husband of the late Eileen G. (Hansell) Bagley and Mildred (Bellafatto Hatch) Bagley . He is survived by his sons, Douglas P. Bagley (and wife, Marylyn A. Bagley ) of Enfield, CT and Donald P. Bagley of Malden, MA, his stepdaughter, Beverly Griffiths (and husband David T. Griffiths) of Port Charlotte, FL and his grandchildren, Crystal L. Duprey and Patrick K. Bagley . Louis was the brother of the late Charles A. Bacigalupo of Reading, MA and Ventura, CA and Julia R. Bacigalupo of Melrose, MA. Louis was the beloved uncle and great uncle of many nieces and nephews.

A 1944 graduate of Melrose High School, Louis loved his mother, served his country, and did right by his family and church. He proudly served on the USS Chenango, an aircraft carrier, in the South Pacific in World War II. Mr. Bagley graduated from Boston College with a JD in 1952. He was a credit manager at Jordan Marsh, Allied Appliance, Granberg Wallpaper, and Garrity Oil. He loved to talk, think out loud, paint using water colors, and dance! He was loved by all his friends, family, and acquaintances alike. The last of his generation, he will be missed dearly.

A memorial service will be held at McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield, MA on Saturday, November 7 at 1:30pm. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home prior to the service from 12:00-1:30pm. Louis' interment will be held on Monday, November 9th at Saint Michael's Cemetery in Roslindale, MA.
