Louis A. Evangelista Jr., 62, a life long Wakefield resident died Thursday, August 12 at his home.
Born in Melrose on September 28, 1947 he was the son of the late Louis A. and Julia (Sawyer) Evangelista.
Mr. Evangelista was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1965 and Coyne Electrical Institute. He had been a custodian for Central Parking Systems in Boston. Mr. Evangelista was an active member of St. Florence Church. He was the treasurer of the Holy Name Society, a Eucharistic Minister and an usher at the church. Mr. Evangelista was a caller at the Wakefield Elks Bingo. He had served in the United States Navy during Vietnam.
Mr. Evangelista is survived by his sister Jeanne I. Southmayd of Wakefield, his aunt Phyllis Evangelista of Wakefield, his nephew James Southmayd of Wakefield and his niece Karen Southmayd of Boston.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Tuesday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Florence Church 47 Butler Ave, Wakefield at 10 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
