, 81, of Ipswich formerly of Lynnfield died Friday, May 18 at his home.
Born on April 24, 1931 in Boston's North End district, Lou was the son of the late James and Fannie (Marciante)
DeGeorge
.
Raised in Everett, Lou went on to achieve his Associates Degree in Business Administration with Boston University. He studied via course work in Business and Finance with the University of Hartford and Dun & Bradstreet Educational Division. He was involved in a number of credit associations; a member of the Boston Bar Association, and served on the steering committee for the Association of Legal and Collection Professionals.
Lou retired from Dun & Bradstreet, Inc. after 45 years and had held such positions such as Regional Vice President, District Manager, and Sales/Consultant representative. After his retirement from D&B he held the position of Administrator of Credit and Collections for the law firm of Goodwin, Procter LLP for four years and then subsequently worked in Corporate Credit for Cyrk, Inc., a merchandise marketing organization. Most recently he was the semi-retired Director of Client Relation for The National Association of Credit Management.
Lou enjoyed being an active participant on the pastoral council for Our Lady of Hope Parish in Ipswich, men's group, lay minister for the parish, teacher, and minister to residences at the Caldwell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was also a member of the Ipswich Rotary Club and was a Paul Harris Fellow and had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

with whom he shared 48 years of marriage. He was the father of

and wife Erica of Lynnfield. He was the brother of John

DeGeorge
of Malden, and Francis and wife Dianna
DeGeorge
of Stoneham. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren Bill, Ashley, Derek, Tara, Alyssa, Joe,

IV, Cassandra, Carmela, Hunter, Colby, and Harrison.
Funeral from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield Tuesday at 9:30AM followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of Hope Parish of Ipswich at 11 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Monday 4-8PM. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery of Lynnfield.
