Louis P . Evangelista , 88, a life long resident of Wakefield died on Saturday, July 20 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Born in Wakefield on September 14, 1924 he was the son of the late Sabino and Matilda (Spaguolo) Evangelista .

Mr. Evangelista was born and raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School. He had worked as a plasterer before his retirement. Mr. Evangelista was a World War II Army Veteran.

Mr. Evangelista was the wife of the late Dorothy (Bothwick) Evangelista . He was the father of Kenneth Evangelista of NH, Paul Evangelista of Yarmouth and Charlene A. Crusco of Winchester. He was the brother of Alfred Evangelista of Wakefield and the late James and John Evangelista , Mary Castracane and Anne Evangelista . He was the grandfather of Eric Castracane, Christopher Evangelista and the late Michael Evangelista . He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 11 a.m. A visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral starting at 9 a.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield,
