Louis R. Patch of Wakefield, a life long resident here died Friday July 18 at his home. He was 75 years of age. Born in Wakefield January 16, 1933 he was the son of the late Harry W. & Anna (Moulaison) Patch. Mr. Patch attended Wakefield Public Schools and soon after entered the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Patch was retired from GTE as a Field Engineer. He was a member of St. Joseph Church and also of West Side Social Club where he had been a member since 1951. He was an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed gardening and wood carving.
He is survived by his wife Margaret M. (Dolan) Patch. Two sons, Thomas M. Patch & wife Barbara of No. Reading and Kevin L. Patch & wife Christine of Wakefield. Two daughters, Kathleen M. Farnham & husband Scott of Wilmington & Marjorie Zambrano & husband Blaise of Sandown, NH. He was the brother of Harry W. Patch, Jr. of VA and Eugene J. Patch of Wakefield and the late Anna O'Neill and Jane Collins. He is also survived by his grandchildren Andrew, Amanda, Benjamin, Kevin, Keegan, Connor, Allison, Thomas, Emma, Jonathan, & Samantha.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield Tuesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church 173 Albion St. Wakefield at 10:00. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Monday 4-8 PM. Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody with Military Honors.
