Louis Tecce, Jr.

Louis F. "Junnie" Tecce, Jr., 81, a life long resident of Wakefield died on Monday, September 21 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington.

Born in Wakefield on December 17, 1927 he was the son of the late Louis F. and Celia (Gravalese) Tecce.

Junnie was a graduate of Wakefield High School. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy Seabees. Later, he attended and graduated from Fitchburg State College in 1983 with a degree in Education.

While working as an auto body instructor at the Northeast Regional Vocational School in Wakefield he took on the name of Lou, retiring in 1993. Prior to that he had worked at the former Bill Curley's Main St. Chevrolet in Wakefield.

Throughout his life he was known as an avid gardener and had flowers blooming from early spring to late fall. When indoors he could always be found reading, cooking or listening to the music of Patsy Cline, Connie Francis and Judy Garland.

Junnie was the devoted husband of Mary (Gregorio) Tecce. He was the beloved father of Mary DiDonato and her husband Victor of Melrose, Lisa, Thomas, and Elaine Tecce of Wakefield. Devoted brother of Mary O'Keefe and John Tecce of Wakefield, Phyllis Ross of FL, Dorothy Roulston of NY, and the late Adeline Shea, Esther Schiavone, Baby Rose, Augustine, Michael and Joseph Tecce. He was the cherished grandfather of Ashley DiDonato and her sister Jennifer Riley.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends may call at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 to 8pm. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
