Loureen Ramsdell

Loureen R . Ramsdell , age 95, a lifelong Wakefield resident passed away February 7, 2022 surrounded by her family at her home.

She was born in Melrose, MA on November 7, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Clifford and Madge (Millar) Russell.

Mrs. Ramsdell was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1944 and was a cheerleader during her high school years. She married her high school sweetheart, Deane, in 1948. Mrs. Ramsdell led and active life and was retired from the former American Mutual Insurance Company of Wakefield. She was a lover of cats, enjoyed baking, ballroom dancing, and was a member of the Quannapowitt Yacht Club. She was also an avid sports fan.

She was the beloved wife of the late Deane Ramsdell . She was the loving mother of Barry Ramsdell and Joyce Carter and her husband Steven. She was the sister of the late Malcom Russell, Virginia Purrington, and A. Brooks Russell. She was the loving "Gammy" to Daniel Carter, Michelle MacDougall and husband Andrew; and was the great grandmother of Mason, Maddison, and Tyler MacDougall. She is predeceased by her former companion, Thomas McDonald. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and her wonderful caretaker Linda Anzivino, who was with her until the end.

Her Funeral Services will be private. Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
