Lucille Eleanor Ristaino

Lucille Eleanor Ristaino, 93, of Medford passed away peacefully at the Greenwood Nursing Home in Wakefield on August 9, 2024.

She was born in Boston on October 20, 1930 to the late Anthony and Rose (DiPasquale) Covino.

Lucille graduated from Lawrence Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1951, and worked as a nurse until she married Joe in 1955. Together, she and Joe raised 6 children in a home that was filled with family, laughter, love, and amazing Italian cooking. Lucille later resumed her nursing career, working for ten years as a school nurse in the Medford school system, endearing herself to countless students. Her summers were spent in New Hampshire, first at Squam Lake and later at the cottage in Meredith on Lake Winnipesaukee. She cherished those summer months surrounded by family, and loved watching her hummingbirds and loons.

Lucille was the beloved wife for nearly 49 years of the late Joseph A. Ristaino. She was the loving mother to Christine Ristaino of Saugus, Stephanie Ristaino of Everett, Anthony Ristaino and his wife Michaela of Sarasota, FL, Joseph Ristaino and his wife Debra of Sarasota, FL, Mark Ristaino and his wife Cathy of Londonderry, NH, Paul Ristaino and his wife Linda of Meredith, NH. She was the cherished grandmother of Kelly Cavanaugh (Matthew), Cassandra Ahern (Jeremiah), Anthony Ristaino (Kara), Chelsey Brown (Seton), Allison Ristaino, Joseph Ristaino (Katie), Clark Ristaino, Mark Anthony Ristaino (Tonya), Natasha Schraufnagel (Jesse), Dante Ristaino (Margaret), and Roseanne Manville (Tyler). She was the adoring great grandmother of Jack and Leo Cavanaugh, Maisie Ahern, Evelyn Ristaino, Zeppelin Jo Brown, Cora Jo Ristaino, Tucker Ristaino, Aubrey Ristaino, Lucy Manville, and soon to arrive, Walker Manville and Baby Schraufnagel. Lucille was the devoted sister of Anthony Covino (and his late wife, Judy) and the late Dolores Covino. She was also a loving aunt to countless nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday August 15 at 11am. A visitation prior to the service will be held from 10am-11am. Interment to follow at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
