Lucille Scott Wallace, age 91, of Lynnfield, MA, formerly of Cleveland, Ohio passed away on June 7, 2021 after a painful struggle with ovarian cancer. Cherished grandmother of James John Wallace, Mary Lucille Wallace, John Scott Wallace, and Angel Pumpkin Pie, devoted mother to her three children John Raymond Wallace, Mary Doris Wallace, and James Scott Wallace (Rodica and her daughter Elena), beloved by her sisters and brothers, Nancy Gibbons (Ray), Mary Spence (Edward), the late John T. Scott (Marie), Clyde Scott (Aline), the late Kenneth B. Scott (Rita) and the late Willie Scott. Adored by her 18 nieces and nephews as well as her own children's closest friends.
Lucille enjoyed a large fun family with 7 brothers and sisters after her parents settled in Ohio from Scotland, and grew up loving the sound of the bagpipes. As a child she enjoyed the family farm that spanned many acres, made life-long friends at camp, and loved watching her parents and their friends dance to Big Band music. She went on to graduate from Hiram College as an elementary school teacher. As a mother, she dedicated her life to her family where she taught her children to appreciate even the smallest of things, to put others before yourself, and insisted that one must find and follow their own interests in order to lead a meaningful life.
She enjoyed fishing and eating the catch, Sunday dinners as a family, camping in Cape Cod, and family reunions in Ohio. Lucille restored antique clocks for over 20 years and ushered at the North Shore Music Theatre for over 16 years. As an accomplished seamstress, she sewed many costumes used in those performances. Her adventures took her to places like Peru, Italy, and Beijing to see the Emperors clock collection. Active in many senior centers on the north shore, she enjoyed making new friends where she learned line dancing routines that she eventually performed on stage.
She also loved a good fire in the wood stove. Whenever we feel the warmth of a crackling fire, we'll know that's grandma spreading her love across the room.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the graveside service at Forest Hill Cemetery on Forest Hill Ave in Lynnfield, MA on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 11:45am.
