Mabel P . Kimball , 88, a longtime Wakefield resident died Wednesday, April 13 at her home, finally reuniting with her beloved husband Robert.
Born in Melrose on April 17, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Mabel (Dadley) Jillett.
Mrs. Kimball was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School. She had worked at the Northeast Vocational High School as a cafeteria worker before her retirement. In recent years she had enjoyed time at the Lynnfield Senior Center where she and her "Lunch Bunch" would play Bingo. Mabel loved gardening and caring for her yard and had a love of birds. She and her late husband, Robert, thoroughly enjoyed travelling across the country in their motor home. In her later years, she loved playing with her great granddaughter, Melissa.
She was the wife of the late Robert M. Kimball , with whom she spent more than 50 years of marriage. She was the mother of Wayne Kimball and his wife Cindy of Wakefield and Frederick D. Kimball and wife Trudy of Caribou, ME. She was the sister of Dorothy Unger of Peabody and the late Louise Buckle and Florence Harris. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Mark, Caitlin, Dean Scott, Amanda, and Jeri, as well as, nine great grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Wednesday at 11am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-7pm. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
