Madeline F . Jason , 84, of Wakefield died Thursday, July 9 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford.

Born in South Boston on September 20, 1924, she was the daughter of the late James and Anna (Coakley) Lehan.

Mrs. Jason was a graduate of St. Augustine's High School in South Boston. She was also a member of St. Joseph's Parish in Wakefield. She was very proud of her Irish heritage.

Mrs. Jason was the loving wife of James J. Jason . They had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in May. She was also the beloved mother of James S. Jason of Chelsea, Allan F .X. Jason of New York, Mary E. Giurleo of Billerica, and Ann Jason Kenney of Vermont. Mrs. Jason was also the devoted grandmother of nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield, on Saturday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church 173 Albion St at 10am. Relatives and friends may call at the Funeral Home on Friday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hallmark Health VNA Hospice, 170 Governors Ave, Medford, MA 02155.
