Maria Jose Alexandre

Maria Jose Alexandre, age 82, of Reading, passed away with her family by her side on Monday, October 28. 

She was born in the Town of Óbidos in Portugal on March 9th, 1942, and was the daughter of the late Jose and Maria (Gertrudes) Marques. 

She was a giving person, always taking care of and wanting to do more for others. She left her home at a young age to come to America in search of a brighter future for her and her family. She persevered though life’s challenges surviving battles with cancer and lung disease to make a better future a reality. She gave of herself always and fought to the end. 

She is survived by her beloved husband, Carlos A. Alexandre. She was the loving mother of Charles Alexandre and his wife Blake and Granddaughter Olivia of Medford. She was predeceased by her brother Albino Jose Marques.

A visitation period for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham, on Friday, November 8 from 10:30-11:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
