Marie Funk

Marie L . Funk , 64, of West Harwich formerly of Wakefield died on Tuesday, March 29 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Born in Boston on February 26, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Angelina (Arrigo) Larsen.

Mrs. Funk had been a Wakefield resident for 30 years before moving to West Harwich in 2005. She was a graduate of Mt. St. Joseph Academy in Brighton, Class of 1964 and Boston State College, Class of 1968. Mrs. Funk received her MasterA'A'A's degree from Salem State College and her CAGS degree from the University of Massachusetts in Lowell. She had taught 3rd grade at the Montrose Elementary School and 5th grade at Galvin Middle School both in Wakefield. She had retired in 2004 as the School Administrator for the Stoneham Public School system. Mrs. Funk was the co-owner of HeatherA'A'A's of Chatham and Molly Grace Shoes in Chatham.

Mrs. Funk is survived by her husband Paul A. Funk , her son Paul A. Funk , Jr. and his wife Heather of Harwich, her daughter Jean C. Jayne and her husband Paul of Woburn, her brother Lawrence Larsen of Groton and her sister Judith Hanlon of Winthrop. She is also survived by her six grandchildren; Molly, Madison and Jack Funk and Charlie, Benjamin and Andrew Jayne.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, on Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St, Wakefield at 10 oA'A'A'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday from 4-8 p.m.
