Mario D’Angelo, age 91 of Stoneham, formerly of Everett, died on Sunday April 6, 2025 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born on August 19, 1933 in Orsogna, Italy and was the son of the late Domenico and Saveria (Tenaglia) D’Angelo. He was the last remaining of four brothers Tony, Joe, and Nick.
Mario is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Gabriella Rita (Ciancio), his daughter Marilena and son in law Michael Light of Malden, daughter in law Carol of Middleton, his granddaughter Melissa and her husband Justin Lamoureaux of Maine, and his grandson Michael of East Boston. He is also survived by many family members, both here and in Orsogna. He was predeceased in death by his loving son Mario.
Mario was a skilled Mason by trade, and the owner of D.A. Construction up until his retirement in the 1990’s. He had an appreciation for opera and a passion for history and art, as well as being a chess enthusiast, and a Bruins and soccer fan.
He and Gabriella enjoyed traveling throughout Europe, and spending months at a time at their house in Orsogna. Mario’s greatest fulfillment came from spending time with his family around the dinner table. He thrived seeing his family flourish and took great pride in being an intricate part of their lives.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Parish, 71 Central St., Stoneham on Wednesday April 9 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan-Anderson Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Wednesday prior to the service from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Interment, Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
