Marion Butler

Marion K . Butler , age 95 and a life long Wakefield resident died Tuesday June 25.

Born on August 24, 1917 she was the daughter of the late John J. & Lena (Neil) Achorn.

Mrs. Butler was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1935. She was a retired assistant treasurer from the Town of Wakefield Treasurers office and for the late Town Treasurer Paul Lazzaro where she spent 25 years. She was a member of St. Florence Church and a member of the Ladies Sodality of the church. Her greatest joy was caring for her family.

Mrs. Butler was the wife of the late Harold A. Butler . She was the mother of Ruth Taylor and John Butler both of Wakefield and Joanne Maguire of Newburyport. She was the grandmother of William, Kristie, Michael, Susan and Bryan Taylor. Kristen and Thomas Walsh, III, Daniel, Cha and Kaileen Butler , Sean and Leah Maguire and Nicholas Butler . She was the "Great" Nana to Katherine, Madeline and John Taylor and Cullen and Evan Walsh. She was the sister- in-law of Mary Achorn of Belmont and Joseph Butler of Portsmouth, NH. Also several nieces and nephews survive including Susan Bruce of Methuen. She was also the sister of the late Howard & Francis "Bud" Achorn.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield on Saturday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Florence Church 47 Butler Ave. Wakefield at 10:00. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home Friday 4-8 pm. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery.
