Marjorie S. Hartnett, 77, a resident of Stoneham and East Machias, Maine died Thursday, April 13, at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.
Born in Malden, MA, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Alice (Kilton) Steeves. Marjorie was raised in Malden and Melrose. She graduated from Kents Hill School in Readfield, Maine and Chandler School for Women in Boston. She retired as the Executive Director of the Massachusetts Association of Public Accountants, (MAPA). Marjorie became very involved with the Red Cross following her retirement and assisted with many disasters throughout the country. Alongside her husband, they built and ran the Wildflower Inn in East Machias, Maine.
She was the beloved wife of Paul J. Hartnett. She was the loving mother of Karen H. Isabelle and her husband Scott of Stoneham, Jeanne A. Attaya and her husband Christopher of Wakefield, and David J. Hartnett and his wife Lori of Tewksbury. Marjorie is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Colleen and Amy Isabelle; Matthew, Elizabeth, and Emily Attaya; and Ryan and Julia Hartnett.
Funeral from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Monday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 1-5 p.m. Interment, Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Peabody.
