Marjorie Hurley

Marjorie Evelyn Grace Hurley, 80, of Lynnfield, died on Saturday, December 6 at Mass General Hospital in Boston.

Born in Melrose on June 23, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Grace (Gibbons) Ferrick of Malden. She was the sister of the late Joseph Ferrick. Marjorie had worked for Mass Electric in Malden.

Marjorie was an avid reader with a strong mind and a winning spirit. She had a thirst for life. Football was her passion! The Flutie years at Boston College brought her tremendous joy. It brought back her youth. The "Hail Mary" pass reiterated her belief that anything is possible if only we try. She believed that hard work is its own reward. Marjorie loved her family and we loved her!

Marjorie was the loving wife of the late Capt. Donald F. Hurley, devoted mother of Michael, Maureen, Janet, and Diane and Mother-in-law of Bob. She was the doting grandmother to Jennifer Hurley, Rob, Mark, Scott and the late Joseph Barbaro.

Funeral services will be private followed by interment at Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.

Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
