Marjorie McGuire

Marjorie J . "Margie" McGuire , 92, a lifelong Wakefield resident, died Thursday, June 23 at the Bear Hill Nursing Home.

Born in Wakefield on October 22, 1923 she was the daughter of late Arthur and Mary R. (Doucette) McGuire .

Margie was both raised and educated in Wakefield. She attended St. Joseph School and was a member of Saint Joseph Parish. She had worked as a former Seamstress for L.B. Evans Shoe Company and later worked for Compugraphic in Wilmington.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. For years she accompanied her father on trips to auctions and flea markets in search of clocks and phonographs. She lived independently into her late 80's and was often found poking around the local CVS, Walgreens, and Market Basket. No year was complete without a trip to her most favorite place of all, The North Ave Diner. Margie was generous and kind of heart; she always had a smile on her face. She was beautiful in every way and will be missed by all.

Margie is survived by her sister Nancy Martin of Paradise, CA; her brother Charles McGuire and his wife Veronica of Wakefield; her nieces Debra Martin Parkinson and Rosemary Martin, Maryann ( McGuire ) Stickney and her husband Norman of Wakefield; her nephews: William Martin and his wife Adele and Charles McGuire , Jr. of Danvers; and her great nephews: Patrick and Richard Stickney, both of Wakefield. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews in California and Montana.

Her funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 10am. Interment to follow at Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield. Visitation for relatives and friends will take place at the Funeral Home prior to the service beginning at 9am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
