Mark Long

Mark David Long , 45, of Malden and formerly of Wakefield, died Thursday, January 28 at Tufts New England Medical Center.

Born in Waltham on December 8, 1970 he was the son of the late Russell T. and Mary (Mulkerin) Long .

Mark was a graduate of Cararoe Country School in Galway, Ireland. He had worked as a manager at Rent-A-Center in Everett. Mark was a devoted fan of the New England Patriots as well as a soccer fan. He was an outstanding bowler and a passion for vintage classic cars.

He was the beloved husband of the late Kathy J. (Owen) Long . He was the loving partner to Lucia M. Picardi. He was the adoring father of Nicole K. Perol, Shannon E. Sawyer and her husband Christopher, and Hannah L. Long . He was the grandfather of Mikayla and Owen Sawyer. He was the best friend of Carlos Picardi. He was the Brother of Richard Long and his wife Olivia, Una M. Long , Russell T. Long , Jr., Carl F. Long and his partner Cathy, Katherine M. Long-Johnson and her husband Jeffrey, David G. Long and his wife Robin, Thomas J. Long and his wife Marianne, Peter M. Long and his wife Barbara, Stephen R. Long , and the late John J. Long . He was the uncle of Meadhbh, Tom, Caoimhe and Riona Long , Joshua Johnson, Noah, Christopher, Michael, Joey, Brian, Kaitlin, Ciara, Serena, and Rachael Long , Isabella and Jameson Burdette, Noel and Brieanne Lacaillade. He was the friend of the late Katherine Daly-Long. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

His Funeral service will be held in the First Baptist Church, 45 Woburn St., Reading on Tuesday at 11am. Interment to follow at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday from 4 to 8pm.
